CraZy
Dog Puts Paw Print
On Deal With Literary Agent
Move To Raise Profile Of CraZy Pet Line |
Azusa, CA -- Everyone loves a
good "dog story," so it’s only natural that CraZy Dog, the
lovable cartoon founder of The CraZy Pet Company, would pick up pen in
paw and write a book. The CraZy Pet company is proud to announce that it
has just signed an agreement with a Raines & Raines, major New York
literary agency for a children’s book featuring CraZy Dog, the sun
glass-wearing "canine entrepreneur," and his colorful cast of
CraZy Pet cohorts, a group that includes Baby Dog, CraZy Cat and CraZy
Little Kitty.
The Raines & Raines agency
has signed projects such as My Dog Skip and Forest Gump,
to sell a children’s book based on CraZy Dog. Everyone associated with
the project is excited about the new book, which blends the CraZy pet
casts’ carefree humor with valuable life lessons for children. The
CraZy Pet story revolves around a group of dogs and cats that run their
own pet supply company. While meeting the challenges and misadventures
of running their business, the characters
show young readers the value of teamwork, cooperation -- and humor.
The colorful CraZy
Pet characters were conceived as a way to enlarge a brand of pet
products manufactured by Cardinal
Laboratories, of Azusa, CA. The
visibility of the CraZy Pets has grown quickly in the last three years.
Capturing attention in leading pet stores
across the nation, the CraZy Dog, CraZy Cat, Baby Dog and CraZy Little
Kitty icons become recognizable enough that soon other pet manufacturers
and even mainstream manufacturers began seeing the value of the CraZy
Cartoon characters in selling their products. Eventually it grew to the
point that owner Tony de Vos created a stand-alone company licensing its
characters to other manufacturers interested in a highly recognizable
image that could help them expand their business - yet didn’t cost the
incredible fees of some of the older characters. The exciting marketing
and promotional opportunities alone have new manufacturers seeking out
The CraZy Pet Company every day.
"It’s hard to
explain," says Barbara Denzer, creator and Vice President of the
real CraZy Pet Company, " the colorful graphic characters appeal to
all ages. They celebrate the unconditional love pets bring to our lives,
attract attention, and make people smile. Up until now we haven’t had
a "major vehicle" like a book, movie or national syndication
to drive the brand but the little pets seem to have a life of their own
- people just like them. Now we are cooking on all four burners."
In
a world where too many people take things "way to seriously"
CraZy Dog and his team of pets break from the pack with funky,
eye-popping graphics and appeal. In addition to supplying the characters
and graphics to their licensees, the creative team at The CraZy Pet
Company also pens off-beat, humorous package copy for their clients.
"We consider the package copy a "key" element of what
we’re doing. We like to have fun - there’s virtually no end to the
ways the characters can be used in promotions, directions and
instructions. Unique merchandising is more important than every in
today’s market."
