CraZy Pet Signs
Four New Licensing Agreements
AZUSA, CA --
These haven’t exactly been the "dog days of summer" for
CraZy Pet LLC. In July, the owner of the colorful cast of CraZy Pet
cartoon characters announced that it entered into licensing agreements
with four prominent makers of apparel, personal grooming products and
other consumer goods.

The four
licensees are Helen of Troy, a Texas maker of grooming appliances and
accessories like hairdryers and brushes; Ramstar Mills, a Georgia
producer of T-shirts, fleece nightshirts, tank tops and shorts; LogoTec
USA, an Irvine,CA maker of sport and school bags, cooler packs, and
binders; and Nissum Cap, a Chino, CA supplier of headwear.
"It’s
been quite a summer, said Tony DeVos, president of CraZy Pet LLC.
"The agreements we’ve signed represent a great opportunity for
CraZy Pet and our new licensees. Our CraZy pet characters make an
instant emotional connection to kids of all ages. As a brand concept,
the characters have already proven themselves in the pet industry since
they were introduced a little over four years ago. Now that we have such
strong licensees believing in the brand, I’m confident we will be able
to make some waves in the mass market."
The new
licensees plan to use the entire cast of CraZy Pet cartoon characters on
their consumer product lines They’re confident that the spontaneity
and magic that have worked to make CraZy Pet a winner in the pet market
and in a on-going advertising comic strip, will strike are responsive
chord with mass market shoppers.
Featured in the
national media (Wall Street Journal, McCalls, Parade and "Good
Morning America" among others), the CraZy Pet cast of cartoon
animals includes "CraZy Dog," a sunglass-wearing canine with a
hip attitude and a good head for business; "Baby Dog," his
slightly brash son; "CraZy Cat," a southern belle feline;
"CraZy Little Kitty," a mischievous kitten with a knack for
product development; and other colorful pets. Together this group of
animals runs their own pet supply company. Their story is told on
product labels, and in cartoon strips that appear in ads on the
company’s website.
Earlier this
year CraZy Pet LLC. entered into a licensing agreements with Salvino,
Inc. (Corona,CA), and VN Products, Inc. (Foothill Ranch, CA).
The maker of
the famous "Salvino Bears," Salvino is using the CraZy Pet
cartoon dogs and cats in a line of bean bag characters, key pulls and
"soap toys." The latter are small toys located inside a bar of
clear soap. VN Products is using the CraZy Pet characters on beach
towels, water bottles, umbrellas, tote bags and mousepads. The company
is also introducing a fun-filled pet-and-kid coloring book featuring the
CraZy Pet characters.
"We’ve
only been trying to license the CraZy Pet characters for less than six
months," said Barbara Denzer, vice president of CraZy Pet LLC.
"The rapid response that we’ve gotten has surpassed our most
optimistic expectations. Licensees have responded very quickly to us
even though we aren’t associated with a hit movie or best-selling
book, because our characters are warm and friendly and they teach kids
valuable lessons about working and planning to reach your goals. Plus,
the characters are just a lot of fun. You can’t look at them without
smiling."
